Our pond-side metal heron – there to look attractive as well as to deter other passing herons from dropping in to fish out the pond for a snack – kind of looks a bit smug. The large clump of sedum behind it has burgeoned forth ready to flower and looks (if you use your imagination a little) like a peacock’s tail, spread out in display mode.
The flowers are getting ready to open out, and the “tail” will eventually turn pink when they do. So I’ll wait and watch for flowers to appear, enjoying the illusion that we here at the “manor house” have our own resident peacock…..!
