Recently back from the Dordgone region in France, I saw this Large White butterfly there, feeding and basking in the autumn sunshine.

At this time of year, the flowers are beginning to look a bit ragged with brown edges to the petals, but this zinnia was holding its own against the cool evenings and misty mornings, and along with other zinnias of different colours It was doing a good job of attracting bees, butterflies and hummingbird hawk moths.

And attracting me, too, with my camera!
