Returning to our campsite and trusty home on wheels just after sunset, I spotted this street lamp, fixed to a wall and festooned with multiple spiders and their webs.
We’d just walked across the bridge spanning the Loire at Amboise, fighting our way through clouds of insects which were hanging about, dancing in the dusk. A real feast for the spiders.
The patterns their webs made in the light were striking, as were their active movements as they tried to keep up with the flies!
